For patients missing most or all of their teeth in an arch, All-on-4 offers something traditional dentures can’t: a fixed, non-removable full set of teeth anchored directly to the jawbone, often placed the same day as surgery.

How All-on-4 works: rather than placing an individual implant for every missing tooth, four implants are strategically positioned in the strongest available bone in the jaw — often angled toward the front of the mouth, where bone density tends to be highest, even in patients who’ve experienced significant bone loss. A full arch of prosthetic teeth is then attached to those four implants.

Why “same day” is often possible: because the implants are placed at strategic angles into dense bone and interconnected by the full-arch prosthesis, many patients can leave with a functional set of temporary teeth on the same day as surgery, rather than waiting months with no teeth at all during healing. A more refined final prosthesis follows once the implants have fully integrated, typically several months later.

Who tends to be a good candidate:

• Patients with failing, extensively decayed, or already missing teeth throughout an arch
• Long-term denture wearers frustrated with slipping, discomfort, or bone loss under their denture
• Patients who assumed they didn’t have enough bone for traditional implant-supported restoration (the angled implant placement often works around this)

What makes it different from traditional implant-supported dentures: traditional approaches sometimes require 6 or more implants per arch and additional bone grafting before placement is possible. All-on-4’s angled placement strategy was specifically developed to reduce the need for grafting and the number of implants required, which can mean a shorter timeline and lower overall cost for qualifying patients.
